Wait a second, you are probably asking yourself : “Why I don’t look very happy?” ?Well... this is how I feel when I look at all the trash that I have generated during the month of February for the #FuturisticFebruary #ZeroWasteChallenge * What is crazy is that I’m already taking a lot of conscious steps from being vegan ( so mainly eating fresh vegetables & fruits) to shopping in zero waste stores. I would have generated at least twice as much without that. ?The good news is that I have learned a lot!
From how to reduce trash through reusing & smarter choices, to which areas need the most improvement! The use of single use plastic in cosmetics, supplements and vegan protein substitutes is the biggest challenge. It is very hard to buy them without facing a piece of plastic. Even if you buy cosmetics or supplements in glass jars the droppers or lids are plastic. If you like to make your #vegan meals a little bit more interesting with #veganprotein substitute most brands wrap them in plastic. (Making your own while traveling is super hard ?) ?Thank you @waterthruskin for challenging me and to @sustainable_duo for starting this challenge and opening our eyes to what the reality of our trash looks like and how we can individually change it and what we need to work on collectively. In USA less then 35% of garbage gets recycled and only 7%-9% of plastics! And you already know where the rest is going!
