The polar bear was first thrown into the global spotlight back in 1922 thanks to a particular soda brand’s now famous print ad. For more than 70 years, the polar bear became the face of mainstream advertisements, melting the hearts of people everywhere. Despite their popularity, the plight of the polar bear continues as many of us find it difficult to know how to save a species that is threatened by an issue as large as climate change. Become a polar bear protector this year by reducing the amount of electricity you use. Insulate your home well, and start by bundling up in extra layers during the colder months instead of running your heater. Pledge to walk or use public transport whenever possible all year round! Simple changes like these can do a lot to cut back on your energy use, helping to reduce global warming. Picture taken @tulsazoo

And, GO VEGAN! 🌱🌱🌱 If we all stop eating animal products and start eating plants (so many kinds to choose from already!), we can seriously start reversing some of the damage to our planet. It is sooo much easier to eat vegan than many people believe! It’s delicious, nutritious, fun, and overall awesome! Best part is that a vegan diet is always cruelty-free 🤗. Let’s save the animals for other animals to eat. Humans don’t need animals on our plates. 🥦🥑🥬🥒🥝🍏🍒🍓🍇🍉🥗🥜🥙🍠🥔🍌🍊🍐🥭🍆🍍🥥🍈🥕 ⬅️yummm

Transitioning to a plant based diet can also help the polar bear and hundreds of other animals (including farm animals). The deforestation of our precious rainforests is happening at an alarming rate to make way for cattle farms. Trees in the rainforest absorb CO2. When tress are cut down the CO2 is released into the atmosphere - eroding it and contributing to global warming. Additionally, the rainforests are the “lungs of the planet,” providing vital oxygen to all species.

The use of public transportation is not simple. Especially for anyone in my situation. No public busses come near my house. Id have to walk ~6 miles down the canyon to get to the main road and like ~1-2miles after that for a bus stop. Even getting people not to idle their car would be great! Or get rid of coal power plants.

Ice ages come and go, still surprising how many people haven't been to Natural History museum. Dinosaurs didn't pollute, but the Earth didn't care, jungles turned to glaciers and it will continue to cycle that way. Reduce, Reuse, and Run to higher ground if you live on a coast.

I have been binge watching Planet Earth. So sad. Polar Bears starve to death when there is nothing to get them out of the water. The Emperor Penguin show was unbelievable. What those beautiful creatures go through is amazing and sad

And if it wasn't mentioned, try to reduce your appointments and errands to only a few days a month or maybe only one day a week depending on your family.
