The California condor, like this one @phoenixzoo, is one of the largest flying birds in the world. Thousands of years ago, California condors lived in many parts of North America, but as settlers moved west, they disturbed the condors by hunting them, poisoning them, collecting their eggs, and reducing the size of prey populations. Eventually condors could no longer survive in most places and by the late 1900s those that remained were limited to the mountainous parts of southern California. Thankfully, intensive conservation and breeding efforts have brought the condor back from the brink of extinction with over 450 birds (both wild and captive) thriving today. happy_just_because_ Hah!🤣I just saw a fish called 'the spotted goblin',which looks like the 'stone fish'. Both are super ugly!!!!! Now I see this.🤣 They're probably awesome in flight.....but man----IT'S UGLY TOO! But I read that the sun is the BEST KILLER of bacteria & since scavenger birds eat dead animals......thus having bacteria, the sun's ray seep through their skin easier than if they had feathers up there. It WOULD BE neat--to see one in real life! Thanks for sharing that much. 🤗😁👏

animalsneedourhelpnow Where do you take these pictures? Do you capture the animals for pictures then release or take it in their natural habitat and edit lighting and background?
