A view of the eastern ridges of the Smoky Mountains.

In 1930, Great Smoky Mountains National Park became one of the largest protected areas of the eastern United States. It encompasses roughly 525,000 acres of lush landscapes (more tree species than in all of northern Europe), abundant wildlife (65 mammal and 230 bird species), and spectacular scenic beauty.

_bulgarian That, I think is one of the most beautiful sights. That of a sunrise where you can see the spectrum but the light isn't strong enough to break through all the dew fog. There's something so solitary to it knowing the animals are still not out and about and how nature itself is waking up. I have a similar photo on my profile that was taken in Washington and I can honestly say being there leaves you speechless.
