My last day in the city before I flew out I woke before the sunrise and wandered the forested pathways of Yoyogi Park, finding myself in the shrine just as the sun broke the sky. My few hours there alone wandering midst the massive old trees, observing the monks going about their chores was one of the most memorable and simple experiences of my time in the country.
