The @グッチ AW19 show saw a set comprised of 120,000 LED lightbulbs, a 100 meter mirrored catwalk as well as floor to ceiling mirrors that refracted blinding light back at the audience. Based on the concept of “persona” and “identity”, @alessandro_michele employed the use of masks, like the one seen here in the form of a bronze eagle, to emphasise the dual function of a mask. Quoting German philosopher and political theorist, Hannah Arendt on using masking as a tool to present ourselves “as a distinct and unique being among equals.”
