@_thegrandapt here! There are small bathrooms, and then there are New York City bathrooms. You’d think that knowing I had such a tiny space to work with would have stopped me from thinking big. But no, I like a challenge. And that challenge came in the form of an old clawfoot tub, which two of my dear friends picked up in a van from New Jersey and strong-armed into my TEENY TINY OLD elevator (they’re the best). I paid $600 to refinish it, which happened in my living room, because this is NYC and we don’t have garages or backyards for this sort of thing!, and it literally JUST FIT in the space we’d allotted for it (by 1/2 an inch). Is it a bit ridiculous? Sure. Is it entirely practical? Not in the slightest. But it makes me happy every time I look at it—and that’s got to count for something.
