#BehindTheShot with #CanonExplorerOfLight @jeremycowart: "I’m really proud of a recent shoot I did with @mattmahermusic. The label wanted us to go up north to shoot on some beaches but logistics kept us from doing so. So I said “I think I can take us to the beach in my studio”. So that’s what I did. Typically, you can photograph someone on a wall and then composite a background behind them, using photoshop. This technique has been done for years and is done all the time. But I wanted to get it all in camera without having to rely on ANY photoshop. So I used a super high res Canon projector (The WUX450ST) and projected beach images behind Matt on a white wall and then I matched the lighting to the photo and direction of the sun. So what you see here is done all in camera with no compositing or photoshop. I think the only thing I did was desaturated the image a little in post. This image was shot with the Canon 5Ds using the 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM lens. Focal length was 50mm at ISO 160 and the shutter speed was 1/20th. It’s amazing what can be done with high end projectors these days. I rely on them frequently." Camera: Canon EOS 5DS
