Inside #CanonExplorerOfLight @lindsayadler_photo's camera bag: "The most important part of an image is what I put in front of my lens-- the content! That being said, I must also have the right gear to bring my vision to life. I love to shoot in the studio is because, to put it frankly, I’m a control freak! I control every single pixel in my frame. Every bit of light has been carefully decided upon and placed! I used to think it was overwhelming, but once you master studio lighting it is actually quite freeing! Let’s take a look at the tools in my camera bag that I use to create in the studio. Canon 5DIV: I’ve been shooting the 5D series of cameras for more than 12 years, so much so that this camera has simply become an extension of myself! With each version Canon keeps improving image quality and performance, and keeps its same seamless interface. If I need higher megapixels, sometimes I’ll grab a Canon 5DS, especially if I may need to crop in even tighter. EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM: My go-to portrait lens for versatile and flattering compression. EF Zoom 24-105mm F/4L: The lens on my camera the most since I can achieve from full length to head-and-shoulders crops. EF 85mm f/1.2L II USM: Narrow depth of field and beautiful compression. EF 180mm f/3.5L Macro USM: My secret weapon for super tight shots of eyes, lips, and face. Accessories: Of course I always have extra cards, batteries and a backup hard drive with me on any shoot. For my studio shoots I also always shoot tethered into the computer so I can review my images as I capture them. For this reason I need a tether cable (to attach my camera to the computer) and TetherBlock to affix the cable to the camera for a more stable connection. Because I am photographing skin as well as saturated colors, I always have a grey card or a color checker to use as a neutral reference to achieve perfect white balance under any light and even to create custom color profiles. Last but not least, I need the radio trigger for my strobes that allow me to change the strobe output without having to touch the lights! It isn’t about having a lot of gear, but having the right gear for the job to bring my images to life!"
