Noah Bella was born with Congenital Heart Disease and despite enduring numerous open-heart surgeries, procedures, and hospitalizations, was one of the kindest, most articulate, most well read people I’ve ever met. People were consistently moved by how much wisdom she carried for a person of her age and stature. Her lemonade stand-turned-festival of life raised over $100,000 for other children and families who suffered from her disease. At 13 years old she passed away following an intensive surgery at an east coast hospital, the only one in the country qualified to address her needs. Last year however, the UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital opened the country’s first west coast program in honor of Noah Bella, and we’re hiking 16 miles next week, celebrating what would’ve been her 16th birthday, to raise what we hope to be $25,000 for the program. Consider lending a few - $20, $50, whatever feels good for you. I know I’ll be doing everything in my power to ensure her legacy touches as many people on this planet as possible.
