January kicked our asses. Mentally and physically, but more so, emotionally - in ways I wasn’t prepared for. The loss of our close friend has been difficult for each of us, and many nights this month have been spent snuggling a weepy Mayhem until she falls asleep. Every time we cry together she asks me how we can possibly have any tears left, and I don’t have an answer. We left our holiday decorations up WAY too long, and Mayhem both ‘made’ (her goal) and was pulled from a 14U tennis team in a matter of 48 hours. After discovering that playing up could affect her ranking and prevent her from playing in her own age groups moving forward, she was pulled from the roster and is sitting out of team matches this winter season. Complete and total devastation in her tennis world. If you’re looking forward to flipping a page on the calendar tomorrow, you’re not alone. Begin again ❤️
