For an an entire year, all she talked about was getting an iPod. I know - I wondered too, but yes, they still make and sell them. Even the guy at the Apple store was like “hey kid, you don’t want an iPod, you want an iPhone.” To which I replied “all the nope.” So anyhoo, she dreamed about the iPod, she talked nonstop about the iPod, and on our daily family walks, she described in detail exactly what it was going to be like opening that gold iPod on Christmas Day - down to the wrapping paper. She also saved a screenshot of this protective ? case on Target’s website last April, and looked at it nearly everyday for 8 months. In the meantime, she created a fake iPod out of cardboard and carried it for months. She’d randomly pull it from her pocket and furiously send off a fake text message or press one of the app icons she had carefully drawn with markers. I don’t know if she manifested the iPod or if she just completely wore us down, but I do know that there was no way in hell we were going to let Santa get the credit for this one. That chump was not interfering with our parental glory ?‍♀️ What’s been your most memorable gift (to give OR receive)?!
