The #10YearChallenge, but make it fashion. Inspired by the viral social media trend, we've done our own version of the challenge, digging into our deep archives (spanning more than 20 years) to compare and contrast Spring collections from 1999 and 2009.
@山本耀司’s standby hue is black, but he's not wed to it, as evidenced by his several bridal-themed shows. The best known of these is the Spring 1999 collection (pictured above) featuring a nuptial number with a zippered crinoline. Fast forward 10 years, and Yamamoto's finale for the Spring 2009, (swipe for photo) show presented another white, bell-shaped white dress that swayed around the model down the runway.
