깻잎 (kkaenip: perilla) so much cooler, tougher, versatile & more interesting than its distant fragile cousin shisho. If you haven’t used it before...get some. The seeds. The oil...used as Ssäm, pickled, stewed, kimchi, fried. It’s all so good and used extensively in ?? cuisine. Quite frankly shisho is dull as fuck when compared to Kkaenip. My grandma would go and forage this stuff in wolf trap park #uglydelicious
