Today, journal on: “something I want to achieve this year is...”? Just grab a journal and pen and sit down with a cup of coffee. Start with the first sentence and see where it takes you. Don’t pick your pen off the paper until you’ve arrived at something that feels like truth. Stream of consciousness journaling WORKS! It’s like sharing but you can do it alone. I did this this morning; “something I want to achieve this year is...” and what poured into my journal wasn’t any of the things I’ve had at the front of my mind over the past week. I’ve been distracted with stupid things; things that haven’t been working, small frustrations, stuck on things that have felt important but when I take a step back I can clearly see they aren’t that big of a deal at all. Journaling on this gave me the kick in the butt to focus on the big picture.
It’s almost February! Stay actively involved in everything you want to create. Don’t slack off. If you feel stuck, find a way to get unstuck. Try a new avenue. Change direction. Get unconventional if you need to. To get big results sometimes we have to take big risks!
