NEW ITEMS ON MY DEPOP! Fast fashion sucks for the planet BIGTIME. I spent a lot of time in Times Square this summer working on a musical. Everyday I walked passed huge shops blowing ice cold air conditioning into the humid streets and selling grossly disposable clothing. It became addictive going in there and I realised I was buying things for no reason with zero thought. Where were the clothes coming from and how long would I keep them? Did I even like them? I didn’t really know. It was just addictive. I made the decision to change my shopping habits. I think I would get more joy from buying less. Either from designers I really like, ethical brands or vintage. Part of the change for me is getting rid of a lot of stuff. What I really like about selling on depop is that it is making me conscious of how much I actually have, it’s giving me a new relationship with my clothing. It’s a process to figure out what I should sell, give away etc. It’s making me think and when shopping is thoughtless it has a negative impact on the environment, on my wallet, on my self esteem even. It’s like this scramble to try and figure out what you want to look like and that’s a big deal and something I think we should have time and space for. Otherwise it’s a lost feeling and you’re just buying more shit to figure it out and that doesn’t work. Do u know what I mean??? Anyway I’m getting rid of shit and the overall goal is to become a much more considerate and conscious shopper ??? #TRASH
