This week’s #RoleModelMonday is Brittney Johnson (@sunnybrittney), who recently made history as the first Glinda of color in Wicked on Broadway. In June of 2018 she joined the company as a member of the ensemble and an understudy for Glinda. Turns out, Brittney would have bigger things in store. It wasn’t until shortly before the show that she let the world know through her Instagram post, writing “Simply Grateful. See you at 7! #BlackGlinda”. Shocking fans and viewers across the world, the talented actress graced the New York stage as the leading role on January 10, 2019. "The importance of this moment in history is only amplified by the message of this beautiful show: Love, friendship, and kindness are stronger than any division caused by fear of ‘otherness,’” she wrote.
