This week's #RoleModelMonday is for not 1, but 2 lovely sisters who use dancing as their outlet to speak. When Kiera Brikley was 2 years old, she became a quadruple amputee after contracting pneumococcal sepsis, a bacterial infection in the blood. Around that time, Kiera's younger half-sister, Uriah, helped her keep up with all of the other kids, despite her challenges. They were inseparable, practicing dance together and becoming so close that they could communicate with eachother without speaking. A documentary was established around the sisters inspired by their first dance piece they performed together. When watching the show, one described their dance as, "effortless, flowing quality and a synchronicity between them even though they're doing different steps." Even though both sisters have gone on to pursue different dance companies and careers, they have learned a lot from watching each other and shining in their professions.
