Joshua Trees take 50 to 60 years to mature and live 500 years or more—well beyond the human lifespan. This past week it was discovered that some folks going into the national parks during our countries partial government shut down, which sadly includes the National Park Service, cut down Joshua Trees so that they could illegally create new 4x4 roads deep in the park. This is despicable. Please be good stewards of the environment out there. Clean up after yourself and please don’t do harm while visiting these parks. @joshuatreenps #joshuatree #california
