Video by @bertiegregory // A female Antarctic fur seal returns to find its pup on the island of South Georgia in the South Atlantic Ocean. After giving birth, the females must regularly leave the pups on land whilst they go out to fish for 5-8 days at a time. Given that the breeding beaches are incredibly crowded, the females often have a tough time relocating their pup after a fishing trip. Fortunately, they are able to recognise the unique call and smell of their own pup so after a bit of shouting and then some sniffing, they’re reunited with their little one.
