I’m used to not trying to put too much thought into an Instagram caption.
My goal is usually “less is more”, to make it more bite sized, more easily digested, quick & simple to understand to any variety of human, but particularly avid social media devourers with short attention spans, like myself. I, personally, pass over long captions more often than not, my impatient mind eager to be entertained by whatever the next scroll brings.
I’d like to try out using my words a bit more this year though. I think people click on an Instagram page and see whatever array of photos it provides and immediately make a snap judgement on the character of that person. For example, I tend to assume that a person is intelligent if they have a more aesthetic feed. They’ve got to be at least patient, consistent, and organized, 3 attributes that I was not blessed with.
So, I’ve decided to resort to the written text (here and there) now, to try and bleed out a little of my inner turmoil/joy to you, so maybe you could understand me a bit better, if that’s something you’re interested in. Let’s see how it goes. 💛 (And if not, I will still be providing the pretty pictures and informative workouts, and will completely empathize if you decide to just give captions the scroll. The whole world is here at your fingertips, after all) xo
