On August 30th of this year, on our 15th birthday, we will publish our last post at Design*Sponge. This year will be a special one, and it will be our last one operating in the way we have for so many years. But this won’t be a sad shuttering of doors — it is going to be a full-fledged, joy-filled celebration where we drag out all of our fanciest china and best linens to celebrate with you, our friends and community, for the next eight months. We’re going to do all the things we’ve always wanted to do, try and delve into here at D*S but never have — and we’ll be getting updates on some of the most beloved stories, people, and homes we’ve shared here over the years.
We’ve published close to 20,000 posts over the past 14 years and our goal has always been simple: to help build and support the creative community by sharing stories and projects from the people in it. And I'm so proud of how much we've accomplished toward that goal and I know our entire team will continue to work hard to take what we've learned at Design*Sponge into whatever we do next. But for now, it’s time for us to make room for new chapters and figure out what’s right for all of us in the future. I wrote a lot more at DS today (link in profile above and in stories) about this decision and what it will look like this year and beyond, so I hope you’ll take a second to pop over and read if you have time. Thank you for supporting us for so long and allowing us to grow, make mistakes, learn from them and keep evolving as a team of real people.
