New York City's skyline was illuminated in flashes of blue when a power company's substation caught fire in Queens Thursday night, officials said.

Firefighters were responding to calls about a possible transformer-related incident at the Con Edison substation in Astoria, Queens. No injuries were reported.

The light could be seen from miles around, with many residents taking to social media to ask what happened.
