... so.. ya see..
The Alien becomes Santa and as he goes to leave Mars he regurgitates his space-ship( that he shrunk down and swallowed earlier) and, well, he climbs in and takes off.. ha..
So.. many people ask me .. What is the meaning of Christmas On Mars..??? And I guess I would say this:: that indeed Christmas is, after-all just a constructed moment. There is no ACTUAL reason to put lights in trees and sing these insanely celebratory songs..we can say it is the party to remember that Christ was born but really even that is a made-up scenario..which I think is good news!!! That all of it ( ..all of the Christmas time ideas of Good Will to Mankind stuff) is just something that we love and embrace and MAKE.. we MAKE IT OURSELVES.. and that every passing year it gets bigger and bigger and more elaborate and ridiculous!! I hope one day ( perhaps in the future) we start to get ready for Christmas after The 4th Of July and keep celebrating it till the Easter Sunday.. ha.. so.. yeah !! I love Christmas and all The brightness it brings into such a bleak time of year.. a time of year that for many is hard and sad and depressing.. it ( Christmas) urges us to be kind to each other and help those who are suffering .. and it is just a wonderful optimistic creation.. but yeah ..So.. this is the Christmas I speak of with the title Christmas On Mars.. and why Mars??
Well... Mars is this brutal unforgiving harsh world ( perhaps it’s a metaphor for life) ... and .. that within ANY circumstances we have the power to create our own happiness. that would be its deep message I suppose..
