When we were driving to Vermont a few weeks ago, it started to get dark and we passed a perfect little New England house all lit up with colorful lights around the entrance and the trees. Harlow got excited (we don’t see houses like this in NYC) and shouted, “Look! That house has the Christmas!” Then, when we saw the next house, you could see the Christmas tree lit up inside the living room window. “Look! That house has the Christmas on the outside and the inside!!!” We passed a bigger and more colorful house. “Harlow! That house is COVERED in the Christmas!” Mazzy chimed in. We spent the rest of the trip laughing and pointing out houses with “the Christmas,” like they had all caught some kind of magical contagious disease. Last night, we went uptown to see the windows on 5th Avenue and Rockefeller Center all lit up. One of the first things we passed was this snowflake hanging over the intersection outside Tiffany’s. “Oooooooh! Look at that pretty snowflake!!!” Harlow shouted. “It caught the Christmas!” Mazzy said and we all started laughing. Holiday magic is alive and well in the Wiles family. We just don’t think it’s at Macy’s.
