The amazing staff from Taronga Wildlife Hospital were beyond excited to release three rehabilitated Green Turtles into the wild recently.
These turtles were brought to Taronga as tiny hatchlings after they washed up on various Sydney beaches. Our hospital team provided constant care and attention to ensure the turtles grew to be healthy and strong. Last week the time came to say farewell – but it’s not the last we’ll see of these beautiful creatures. We attached satellite trackers to their backs so we can track their movements and learn more about their critical habitat and nesting areas. This data is helping our researchers to better understand this species.
