Dr. Olivia Hooker was an American psychologist and professor. She was a survivor of the Tulsa race riots in 1921 and became the first Black woman in the U.S. Coast Gaurd. After leaving the Navy, she received her masters and doctorate degree in psychology. She taught at Fordham University for 22 years and dedicated her work to helping people with developmental and intellectual disabilities. #inspirationwednesday
