Last Sunday was one of the hardest days of my life. I had to say goodbye to my best friend, my dear Jeffrey. Jeffrey fell ill a few days before and after multiple trips to the veterinary hospital and trying everything we could he sadly passed away in their care. My last memory of him is at the hospital before more tests. He had a sudden burst of energy. He wagged his tail when he saw me and gave me kisses and snuggles which is such a warm memory. John and I are totally heartbroken by this sudden loss. We loved him with all our hearts. Jeffrey taught us so much and will never be forgotten. In his short but action packed life he was front row at a fashion show, went to the Women’s March, Paris Pride, and an Intersex Rights protest in Chicago and saw many far away places that some could only dream of. He brought a smile to everyone who met him. His mischievous energy was contagious. Jeffrey showed me real happiness. He was my companion everywhere I went. Last summer he even helped me save a little injured songbird that I never would have noticed without him. Jeffrey has been so supportive for me since the day we brought him home. He gave me the best year of my life. I hope one day I will be reunited with my little angel so we can do our morning snuggles and daily walks again in eternity. ???
