Nikolai and Simon Haas’ ‘Ferngully’ immerses visitors in a forest-like environment evocative of the 1992 animated film from which the show takes its name, complete with a menagerie of their signature beasts. A series of fibre-optic palm tree lamps were produced especially for the brothers’ first solo museum survey at @thebassmoa, complete with woven trunks and copper fronds. ‘This show is about revisiting childhood, understanding ourselves, our place in the world and our relationship together as twins,’ the brothers explain. ‘Ferngully’ is on view 5 December 2018 – 21 April 2019.
