Mumbling Mud, the major solo show by German artist @Katharina_grosse was unveiled earlier this month at Shanghai’s Chi K11 Art museum. Grosse has turned her spray-paint gun – loaded with typically vibrant ammunition – towards a new set of five site-specific works, set across five themed ‘zones’. Using base materials including mounds of soil, hunks of crumbing concrete and swathes of draped cloth, Grosse stages vibrant chromatic interventions to immerse viewers in a world of familiarity and fantasy. ‘The immediacy of painting, for me, is one of the most amazing things.
