Congratulations to Magnum photographer Thomas Dworzak who was awarded the Hood Medal by the @royalphotographicsociety last night for his involvement in 'Europa: An Illustrated Introduction to Europe for Migrants and Refugees'.

Established in 1933, the Hood Medal is awarded within the art or science of photography for a body of photographic work produced to promote issues of public service or concern to society.

Published in four languages, 5000 copies of 'Europa' were distributed on the ground by aid services. It was also made available as a downloadable e-book, so it could be accessed as widely and easily as was possible to those who needed it most.

With thanks to all those involved, including the participating Magnum photographers, editor Alia Malek, writer Lise de Bode, photo editor Arianna Rinaldo, and project leader Jessica Murray. The project was produced in partnership with the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (AFAC) in the framework of the Beirut-Berlin Creative Platform (BBCP), Magnum Photos, Al-liquindoi, and On The Move, in cooperation with Allianz Kulturstiftung, Magnum Foundation, and the Geneviève McMillan-Reba Stewart Foundation.
