When I got offstage the other night, a local stagehand told me they haven’t seen a band as energetic as us in a long time. But, what really struck me is this person also told me, “I can see you’re actually having fun onstage, and I don’t see that in a lot of musicians anymore.” It was equal parts flattering & sad to hear. To each his own, but I can’t go onstage playing a high energy set and be bored doing so. What’s the point then? That excitement & adrenaline courses through my body and I react to it accordingly. It’s because I love music. I love our band. I love playing music in a live setting. I love the energy from the crowd.

In other words, I have fun doing what I do & you can see that. I can’t live life NOT enjoying myself. I lived life like that before - dreading tomorrow, waking up in an awful mood knowing I had to go do something I wasn’t enjoying doing, and just not being satisfied w/life.

Life is too short (cliche, I know), but everyday not enjoyed, pursuing your passions, is a disservice to yourself & a day wasted taking steps towards a life you fully love living.
