Sending prayers to everyone in this time of healing. I was across the world researching schools for our daughter when the fires started. As a native Californian, I will say the feeling of helplessness watching the place where I grew up, our family’s history, where I spent so much of my childhood burn to the ground is indescribable. The fear that comes from the uncertainty. Story after story of people we know losing their homes. Waiting to hear if some of the places that housed our strongest memories as a family survived the fire. Animals running scared in the dark from flames. Counting our blessings because we are together and our animals are safe, thanks to the tireless efforts of the first responders and firefighters who are out there risking their lives to protect all of us. Our hearts go out to everyone in California. I am so honored to call this my home and to be a part of this brave community.
