Allison is a student at Binghamton University in upstate New York and she’s asking everyone to vote for the climate on November 6th. Thank you! “As a young person who was born and raised in the southern region of New York, I am deeply disturbed by the recent climate report published by the United Nations. I certainly enjoy the 70-degree days we saw well into October here in New York; however, I can’t enjoy them fully knowing that they are resulting from climate change. This makes me worried for my future and angry with my representatives on both sides of the aisle for not placing climate legislation at the top of the political agenda.

Young people are now the largest voting block and overwhelmingly understand that climate change will have severe impacts on our future. Voting for candidates who support policies to mitigate climate change is of utmost importance to preserve a livable planet. I urge you to research the environmental platforms of candidates before voting on November 6th. If the United States truly wants to be a leader in addressing the climate crisis, we must elect representatives who will support climate legislation next year. Doing so will have important positive effects on the people of this country and will demonstrate our commitment to protecting the future of its citizens.” ? taken a few years ago from one of my favorite places on earth, a place I can’t imagine not being able to visit due to our current trajectory.
