Yesterday was wild! I am still buzzing! I found myself speaking on a @fastcompany panel representing my company BaYou With Love (@bayouwithlove ) alongside some of the greatest minds in sustainability and tech, Dell’s David Lear and Santhil Balasubramanian, co-founder of Sistine Solar (@sistinesolar ). What an exciting day for @bayouwithlove ! It was announced last week that Bayou and @dell were named finalists by @fastcompany for design and innovation through our collaboration creating sustainable jewelry out of recovered gold from recycled tech. Whoa. Pinch me! To be recognized in this capacity is such an honor. For those of you who know me, you know how hard I have been working to build this company. The sleepless nights and working around the clock while wearing every hat with our tiny but mighty amazing Bayou team (thank you!!!) , the blood sweat and tears poured into something I believe in with all my heart are all part of the growing pains felt by anyone trying to start their own company. It’s no secret that starting a company comes with its challenges, but days like yesterday inspire me to continue on our mission of creating earth-conscious products for the conscious consumer. Thank you for a much needed reminder for why all of us crazy dreamers do what we do. And thank you @dell for your continued support, and @fastcompany for highlighting the work we are doing in this space, merging fashion with sustainability and tech and creating beautiful products as a result.
