? We live in an increasingly interconnected world where, owing especially to social media, there is a growing awareness surrounding the fact that ‘global’ cannot and should not translate – culturally speaking – into a levelling of specificities and individualities in favour of Western-centred representational and aesthetic models. In order to contrast the visual homogenisation and the levelling out of thought, we should reclaim diversity and the search for the wealth that can only emerge through plurality.
We hope that ‘Embracing Diversity’ can contribute to inspire a desire for welcoming and curiosity towards different cultures in favour of a deeper and better understanding of our contemporary society.
