? Today we introduce Alessio Boni @alessioboniphoto ‘s work on display - Unusual angles ✨ Bio: Age 35. Living in New York since 2006. Being my "vice' and biggest passion, traveling is what influences my work the most. The direct contact with people, new cultures, diversity and a landscape that my eyes has never seen it's what has been inspiring my work the last decade. Documenting is the main purpose of my photography. Like Lou Reed says in a cover song "this magic moment so different and so new", that's what i look for every time i meet someone and i decide to photograph him/her sometimes for a series sometimes for just a portrait. My homosexuality and the research of my own sexuality has given the first direction to my work.
Spending ten years living and traveling in America has also helped to give my photography a shape that otherwise would have been different if i wouldn't have left Italy. But my roots are calling me back and i'm ready to re-explore Europe and Italy with a different eye. Everyday i ask help to art, music, cinema and books and new people i meet to keep finding inspiration. If i should name some books: ‘Theorema’ by Pierpaolo Pasolini, ‘City of Night’ by John Rechy, ‘Middlesex’ by Jeffrey Eugenides, ‘The Master and Margarita’ by Mikhail Bulgakov and of course Pierpaolo Pasolini. #AlessioBoni
