This evening, The Queen and Members of The Royal Family attended a Service to mark the Centenary of the Armistice at Westminster Abbey.
The service commemorates the armistice signed between the Allies and Germany at Compiègne in France to end the fighting on the Western Front.
Armistice took effect at eleven o'clock in the morning on the "eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month" of 1918 – 100 years ago today.
During the service, The Queen greeted the President of Germany before they laid fresh flowers on the Grave of the Unknown Warrior. The Prince of Wales also gave a reading during the service.
