These videos (and FaceTimes) from home have given me so much life this week. This has been the longest time away from my girl and to answer in short to all the, “how can you leave your daughter for so long” questions I’ve received this week I’ll just say this 👇🏼 . I’m trying my best juggling work and family. I’m not perfect and neither are you. No matter the job, every mother out there knows the pain of missing her baby. Some maybe more than others when work requires frequent traveling. It doesn’t get easier but I’ve definitely grown a layer of tough mama skin in knowing that right now this is our life and we’re doing the best we can. There’s so much more to this world than the pretty production you see on IG. Behind it is a full-time job (I don’t expect you to fully understand) but yes sometimes traveling is required. I love that my job has taken me to some of the most beautiful places in the world and I’m so grateful for these opportunities so I’m not going to discredit that. I’m also a human and like any other mama who loves her child, I get sad when I have to leave for work. I have so much respect for working moms out there because YOU GET IT and it isn’t easy. I am so grateful to my family for stepping up when I’m away and loving teeny like their own. I can sleep better at night knowing she’s in great hands until I return and also trust that God is looking out for her 24/7! 🙏🏽 . Everything I’m doing is for this little girl - just like my parents (and my aunt who helped raise us) all collectively did for me and my sibs. They all worked so hard and they still loved so hard. I want to set an example for my kids and show them (and myself!) that I can be a hands-on loving mommy and a passionate working woman too.
