Behold, the photo that became the unexpected cover star of our current November issue. ? Here's how it all happened according to Greg Lofts (@brooklyncooks) our Deputy Food Editor. ??‍? “None of us had any idea this striking image by @paolaandmurray would become the November cover, but all the elements came together like magic. ✨ Our prop stylist @tanyagraff found the hand painted credenza and vintage privacy screen depicting various fowl at the home of @stormgeneral in coastal Maine, where we shot this Thanksgiving feast. ? To garnish the turkey, I bought stalks of dried but blessedly still green wheat from a local grocery store and begged a few branches of wild rose hips from the florist @oneandsupp. ? I found the gorgeous twine tying the legs together at a flea market in Arezzo, Italy about 10 years ago. There is precious little left now so I only use it for photoshoots.
