Thank-Q from the bottom of my SOUL to my dear bro & sis, @ドクター・ドレー & @メアリー・J. ブライジ for hosting such a special home screening of QUINCY for me...It absolutely touched my heart to have you both there, not only as fellow artists in the film, but as FAMILY!
Mary, when you thanked me for caring for our little black girls out there like you, all I have to say to that is...It’s an honor...It always has been & always will be for me. If we don’t take care of our young ones & inspire them to grow into their fullest potential, then we aren’t doing what we were created to do, & it’s no surprise that you’ve in turn become that person for so many young peeps out there.
And to U my bro...Dr. Dre...I still can’t tell you enough how much it made my soul smile when you said I was the reason you became a producer. There were so many times I looked up to Clark Terry or Dizzy Gillespie or any of the other dignified cats out there when I was a kid, & it was because of their belief in me that I was able to do what I’ve done. In the same way, I’m honored to have been that person for you & I know you are now that person for many.
The both of you have such powerful lights within you & as we talked about on Wednesday...Always keep reachin’ & never, EVER give up. It’s been a pleasure to watch you both grow up since you were kids (relative to now!! ((:0)) & I can’t wait to see what’s next. All my love to U both...xxoo
