This photo was taken in 1963 in Washington DC when people of color were denied the right to vote. This photo couldve very easily been taken today! As you can see in the picture whites and blacks marched alongside each other! Those brave souls knew that every person had the right to vote regardless of what they looked like. Two years later the Voting Rights Act was passed into law so no person could be denied their right to vote, but unfortunately we still live in an America where its citizens are being denied the right to vote by different tactics to intimidate and discourage them from showing up at the poles. We must step up, step out and vote people! Wait in line, drive across town, do whatever is necessary but, Please make sure you are ready come November 6th. Just take a closer look at the photo and remember that many of these people are no longer with us but some of them gave their lives to make sure we had the right to vote! Don't take this right for granted! We need all of you! From 18-80 show up and show out! #vote #speaktruthtopower #endpolicebrutality #endvotersuppression
