I had the most amazing time at #Goalkeepers18 in New York last month. As much difficulty and suffering as there is in this world, it was a really uplifting experience to see how much positive change has been achieved through international cooperation and humanitarian efforts. Today, around 10% of the world population live in extreme poverty - this is obviously terrible, but did you know that in 1990 this figure was around 37%? Progress can happen!⁣

It’s easy to look at public figures and well known activists making strides towards bettering our world and feel like there’s nothing you can do to contribute, but that’s just not true. The beauty of the Global Goals is that there are ways for you to help, even if they seem smaller, even if they’re more local, even if they’re just in your immediate circle. You, personally, standing up against injustices and calling out behaviours DOES make a difference because YOU are part of the world that we want to make better.⁣

To promote Gender Equality you could:⁣
-Recognise and avoid stereotypes, and help to educate others⁣
-Stand up against harassment where you see it⁣
-Ensure that some of your role models or mentors are women⁣
-Support a charity that benefits gender equality⁣
