Intense project: shooting from an Amtrak engine between Newark, New Jersey and Penn Station in Manhattan. This tunnel was flooded by SuperStorm Sandy in 2012. I had one pass from the engine to get this right. The rest of the story involved shooting aerials and then industrial architecture until the early evening.

This tunnel along with the railroad approaches in New Jersey narrow down to a two-lane trestle that carries over a hundred trains a day. The trestle, tunnel and railroad need upgrading and are the centerpiece of a bitter political battle between the current administration, which does not want to spend the money and the absolute need to reduce rail congestion going to and from New York City. The reality is, this is the major railway into the city and is essential that it undergo renovations. Trains rumble through this tunnel everyday and I could see many sections of crumbling concrete and exposed cables.
