I was 16 years old in 1986 when I met @miketyson at @amh4real house in #Weehawken #NewJersey before he became Heavyweight champion of the world. He was 19 years old! @ロバート・ダウニー・Jr was there and they would jam on instruments for hours! I wasn’t musically inclined so I would just watch. Mike and I became very close after that and the only time I ever got beat up in my life was the night I was with Mike at the Beastie Boys/Run DMC concert at Madison Square Garden in August 1987. It was the night the entire garden raised their adidas sneakers during Run DMC rapping to My Adidas! I lost Mike at the concert and got beat up by Boogie Down Productions DJ Scott La Rock and KRS-ONE! (Longer story as to why) By the time I got up from my beat down the concert was over so I stumbled outside and called Mike on his giant brick phone from a payphone but he was already in the club and couldn’t hear me. I didn’t have cab fair to get to him so I just walked home. One of the most memorable nights of my life for many reasons!
