The World at Night project
There is a world beyond our offices and apartments. To many who live under urban light pollution, the night sky became a forgotten part of nature. I hope images like this reconnect us with what we are missing in our busy city lifestyle.
This clip is also a tribute to Koyaanisqatsi (life out of balance), an impressive 1982 documentary filmed by pioneer cinematographer Ron Fricke, which inspired me in teenagehood with its message and a stunning composite shot of the moon and skyscrapers.
