Today has been horrible. And triggering. And yet another reminder of how much our country fails to support and protect women. Watching today’s testimony I slowly went from sitting up to curling over in a ball and crying. I’m remembering men who’ve told me that I was “just as guilty of attacking” for speaking up about an assault I experienced. Some days it’s just too much to take. So I’m logging off. And huddling around things that make me feel safe right now. I know not everyone has that option to unplug and find a space to be safe. And I truly feel the weight of that reality- and the heaviness of that sadness is so present and daunting right now. Please love, trust, respect and protect each other, today and every day. It has been a difficult day for so many people who are reliving their own traumas through this horrific public hearing. This picture of Turk (that always makes me feel safer) is all I can offer right now in addition to my ear and my support for anyone who needs it. ?
