This is Vienna, Austria. I love meeting locals and talking to them about their part of the world. On this day I decided to take an hour-long pedicab ride from a guy in lederhosen because he looked so Austrian. .
George, a music teacher and player of Latin Jazz, was born and raised in Vienna and was thrilled to pedal me around, sharing his favorite spots.

This is one of them. We stopped at an imposing facade of buildings and he told me to go into the courtyard and look up. “I love these courtyards” he smiled.

We rode around that day trying little brötchen snacks, seeing a Willy Wonka of a cathedral and talking about being a good tourist. Stuff I wouldn’t have experienced if I hadn’t agreed to that initial ride.
