From the top of Ganzi Monastery overlooking the town, now a city with many modern multi story buildings. 10 years ago when I first visited, it was a market town with mostly Tibetan architecture, traditions and culture, dominated by this monastery at its highest point. It was possible to photograph inside the prayer halls, the kitchen, debating courtyard and nunnery. Many of those photographs were published in my book on the Chamagudao, the Tea Horse Road.
