Today at Bramham Park, West Yorkshire, The Prince of Wales attended a consecration service and presented a new “Guidon” (regimental flag) to The Queen’s Own Yeomanry.
HRH is Royal Honorary Colonel of The Queen’s Own Yeomanry, a light cavalry regiment in the Army Reserve.
Did you know Standards and Guidons evolved from banners of the Knights of the Middle Ages? They are usually of crimson trimmed in gold and with the Regiment's insignia in the centre.
